Double trade success at Solstice Park

October 20, 2016

The strategically-located Solstice Park in Amesbury will soon be home to a new big name builders’ merchant.

Travis Perkins is to develop a 10,000 sq ft facility on a 1.75-acre plot at the rapidly-growing multi-million-pound industrial and distribution hub in Wiltshire.

The yet-to-be-built unit is on the section of the 160-acre park known as EOS, where more development is in the pipeline. For NRG Developments has also recently acquired 1.3 acres there to speculatively develop 36 units ranging from 1,500 sq ft to 3,000 sq ft, subject to planning.

These units will be ideal for trade counter occupiers and small to medium sized occupiers looking to buy or rent.

David Fahie, Development Director at Amesbury Property Company, which has developed Solstice Park, said: “This is a major coup for the town and will see the first trade scheme in the area – which will benefit from the superb transport links.

“With so much development happening around Amesbury – both new housing and the massive expansion of the Army Garrisons – Travis Perkins has stolen a march on the competition by becoming the first full service builders merchant in the area.”

Philip Holford, from joint selling agents Myddelton and Major, added: “With Travis Perkins on the site other trade counter operators are sure to follow, especially with the new development of business units that will be available.”

EOS1 comprises a remaining site of about 2.09 acres which could be of interest to owner-occupiers or developers seeking a value for money southern base linking into the south coast and south west regions.

Philip added: “It is one of the few opportunities for an occupier to acquire a smaller commercial development site in the region.”
A further plot, EOS2, measuring 8.6 acres, can provide units from 50,000 sq ft to 150,000 sq ft on either leasehold or freehold basis.  Alternatively, the plot can be purchased for self-build.

Solstice Park is an established 160-acre business park situated alongside the A303 dual carriageway. It offers strategically-located development opportunities for industrial, distribution, trade, roadside, and office users.

Current occupiers include Home Bargains, Muller Wiseman and Tintometer. In addition the services provided on Solstice Park include Holiday Inn Hotel, Toby Inn, Co-op Food, Pizza Hut, Costa Coffee, Kentucky Fried Chicken and McDonald’s.

The site provides excellent access from its mid southern location to the motorway network via the M3 to London and the M25, and north via the A34 to the M4 and M40
